Hot topic at the moment. In the pursuit for bigger profits, and I expect, on the say so of the big sponsors, the idea has been floated of extending the football season to include games held in other parts of the world.
Big, big profits at stake here as the sport worshipped by millions becomes a part of the entertainment industry. Im sorry but I just dont see it as a sport anymore.
As usual, the views of the fans, already being stung by increasing ticket prices and being fed a diet of obscenely rich footballers to look up and aspire to, is a very low priority.
In an odd way I find myself in agreement with Gordon Brown on this issue.
